I got home today after feeling incredibly sad all day. I saw my wife and my kids, and my wife said to me 'how are you feeling?'

I just burst into tears... I cried for nearly 10 mins... I don't know what came over me, I just felt so sad.

It's just amazing that someone I have never met has made such a huge impact on my life.

I now feel a lot better, but I still can't believe he's gone.

It's kinda weird, but it's amazing how you can become attach and admire somebody you have never met, and when they die, you sort of feel like a little bit of yourself dies at the same time.

Yeah Jamie.. It was unbelievable... The last time I cried like that was when my grandfather passed away.

I still feel really empty.

I guess that's my greatest fear, after the initial shock of steve passing, what will the future apple look like, not in a week or a month, but in 6 months or a year. I think apple will be a far different company...

Very sad that Steve has died, touched by the messages that filled my Twitter timeline for most of the day and I think this quote from Barack Obama absolutely nails it:

I found out about Steve's death through a Macworld email, which appeared as a notification on my iPhone 4's lock screen. Funny story, I got my phone out of my pocket to check the time, put it back in, did a double take and pulled it back out again.

A few weeks ago, I visited Jobs for the last time in his Palo Alto, Calif., home. He had moved to a downstairs bedroom because he was too weak to go up and down stairs. He was curled up in some pain, but his mind was still sharp and his humor vibrant. We talked about his childhood, and he gave me some pictures of his father and family to use in my biography. As a writer, I was used to being detached, but I was hit by a wave of sadness as I tried to say goodbye. In order to mask my emotion, I asked the one question that was still puzzling me: Why had he been so eager, during close to 50 interviews and conversations over the course of two years, to open up so much for a book when he was usually so private? “I wanted my kids to know me,� he said. “I wasn’t always there for them, and I wanted them to know why and to understand what I did.�

I was in awe of Steve when I purchased my Apple IIc in 1984 and have been ever since. He taught us to 'think different' and his vision and passion lead to achievements that fundamentally changed the world.

He may have gone to that iCloud in the sky but his legacy will live on in history and in the hearts and minds of those of us who were privileged to have witnessed the life of one of the great men of all time.

A few months back i posted somewhere, about a doco on steve jobs, that was on pay TV, but i know a lot of you don't have pay tv, so i have some good news.... The steve jobs Doco, (billion Dollar Hippy) will be broadcast thursday the 3rd of May at 9.30 Pm on ABC1, I can highly recommended it.
