Who has an opinion as to whether our beloved forbidden fruit company will offer us an 7 inch ipad this year say what?
I'm betting to the affirmative and believe they will release a mini version, Samsung ,Dell and the like have already, so why wouldn't they then i beg ye answer? I for one would love an tablet what doesn't have the bulk of the existing ipad, and allows some better portability, even better still if it can make phone calls![haha]

I really can't see a huge advantage, in making a smaller iPad, not unless they are trying to compete with the kindle, but I can't see a lot of advantage in that either, as most stories I read, amazon lose money on the kindle... So where is the logic in that !

If Apple could make a 7" tablet that's, say, $300-350, I think there'd be a solid market among buyers who want a cheaper tablet but Apple quality. There's obviously a market for this size device so I don't see why Apple wouldn't want to exploit it if it's profitable.

$300 to $350 Alex is not that tempting, personally I would prefer to pay the extra $129 bucks and get the bigger one. I think it need to be closer to $199 to $249, to attract any traction.

I don't think a smaller iPad would have to compete with the previous generation full-size model, so Alex's price range seems fair to me.

Trying to undercut the previous model wouldn't be necessary because the mini iPad would have all the bells and whistles of the current iPad.

Personally, I wouldn't go far a full-sized iPad 2 over a mini iPad 3 if the 3 was a bit cheaper. It would be a trade off, bigger screen vs. better screen, better processor, and so on.
You might not know it to look at me, but I'm pretty radical.

I wouldn't be up for one, personally, but I know companies such as couriers and the like have been after one for ages.

No reason why not, I suppose. There are three sizes of MacBook Pro, so why not three sizes of iOS devices?

Cheers

iPad Mini is more versatile than the competition, and I'm sure it will please a lot of people.

Welcome to the forum. No doubt, early sales are encouraging. I'd like one but can't really justify it!
