Updating Apps In Mountain Lion After installation of Mountain Lion

Looking for some help here.
I just installed Mountain Lion (from Lion). Set up ICloud as instructed & discovered that iPhoto needed an update.
Software update also advised that iPhoto needed an update to 9.3.2.
When I click the Update button, I get a box which reads "You have updates available for other accounts . Sign in to "....." to update applications for that account.
When I click on OK the box disappears but doesn't come up with a "sign in " box
The ".........." appears to be a sign in (old) for Apple ID - since been amended with a new sign in.
Question is how/where do I sign in & to what, in order to get the update.
I can't find any accounts with the name specified and am getting nowhere with an update.
Would appreciate any suggestions

Thanks for your replies.
I think I was signed in to the App store , but I will try again after I sign in & see whether that makes any difference.
I always run repair disk permissions after I instal anything new, but I may not have restarted after the standard restart on completion of the installation.
Will try that also.
What got me whacked is the request to sign in to an unknown account for the update of iPhoto. Another update which was also advised, went through without any trouble, but it wasn't an iLife app.
Will see how we go!!
