I have yet to find an answer to how I can sync my Aperture and iPhoto libraries.
I began using iPhoto and now mostly use Aperture, I would like the same photos in each application, with correct dates.
Is this an impossibility?
Thanks for any help offered.

Aperture and iPhoto sync

I haven't heard of any way to do it automatically. Only way I can think of would be either to import into iPhoto and then from there to Aperture (might be able to do vice versa as well), or else import into a file and then separately into each programme.

When I downloaded the trial of aperture it asked if wanted to import my entire iphoto library into it. It took a while but all my photos synced. Noy sure if there is an auto feature to sync but you can import. I them would just import of my camera into both libraries to keep them upto date.

It is possible to maintain both an iPhoto and Aperture Library with the same photos. All you need to do is import the photos into iPhoto first and then use Aperture's import iPhoto Library feature to import the new photos. Just make sure that you select the option that keeps the photos in their original location, i.e the iPhoto Library. Aperture will reference the photos instead of copying them into it's own library so you're only managing one set of photos.
I have not tried this myself so I don't know how well it works, but apparently both Aperture and iPhoto are aware of any changes made to photos.

Thanks for the replies, yes, loading images into iphoto first and importing to Aperture seems the way to go. Only problem is most of my photos are in Aperture. I tried sending to iphoto but it messed up all the dates of the photos.
One way street it seems, or else I shall have to dump iphoto and just use Aperture.
Not sure is Aperture 3 has any new solutions to this problem.

Are you exporting versions or masters?

The date should stay the same if you're exporting masters.
