In great news for Mac gamers, Valve is coming to the Mac in a big way. A number of its popular PC titles will be available (in native form) for the Mac in April, and even better news is that if you already own the PC title the licence can also be used for the Mac version – free.

Great news for gamers!

Cheers
Dave

I am particularly excited that Valve will be fostering a library of dual-release Mac/PC games. That is great news for me as it further decreases my need for a Boot Camp partition.

I just posted a first look at the beta.

Anyone here had a chance to play with it? What do you think?

I don't often get time to play games but I've checked out the site and there are a few that I think I would like.
I'm on my work computer atm so my question is do you have to download the Portal to be able to play the games, or is that something different?

Still waiting for my copy of Portal to come down the line. It's funny, I started the download at 8:30 this morning, I got home an hour ago and only a third had downloaded but since I've got home another third has downloaded and the remainder should be done in 15 minutes. huh.gif

Steam is the client software to browse the Steam Store and buy games, Portal is a game available on Steam.

5 hours to download and 5 hours to finish the game.

Can't wait for Portal 2!
