Hi all,
Had a situation yesterday where my recently purchased 15" MBP (OSX Lion)will not boot up. You hear the clicks after hitting the power button, but screen still stays at black. The little light at the front edge of the laptop glows on and off. Tried all the suggested remedies (SMC and PRAM reset)with no luck. Not sure what to do here. As I'm in Adelaide, booking a Genius consult is not an option. Please advise

This sounds really stupid, but have you checked that the screen brightness isn't turned completely down?
Turn up the light level to maximum using the F2 key, and see if that makes a difference. The fact that the light glows would indicate that the machine has booted IMHO.
Cheers,
P

Yep, covered that possibility but no luck.

Roman, this appears to be a common problem amongst some MBP users who have installed Lion.
