So, I was just putting the finishing touches on a blog about why I'm not getting my hopes up about tomorrow's Apple keynote, and it goes and announces that it'll be streaming the event live!

I'm not sure whether this means anything, or Apple's just doing it because it can, but I can tell you now that I am incredibly excited to see what's coming.

Here's my list of predictions:

4th gen iPod touch (absolute definite – see here)
New iPod nano – I'm still not sure whether the touchscreen will be the nano or the shuffle, or whether it will combine the two.
iTV – I'm hoping this comes tomorrow
New iTunes – this is what I'm getting really excited about. Apple is streaming the event for the first time to show what it's capable of. Could we be seeing a new iTunes with the number one feature of being able to stream your content anywhere? A web-based iTunes, perhaps? Looks like Apple has the technology for it, and it would just be an extension of iTunes Preview.
New iLife, including iOS versions of iPhoto, GarageBand, iWeb. Plus I'd kill for an iLife app that lets you make your own iOS apps easily. But I won't hold my breath just yet.

Anyone else care to speculate?

That's about what I'd have guessed. I think the whole iPod line will guest a refresh except maybe the Classic - I don't know there's anywhere for that to go. You'd have to say a big iTunes update with livestreaming. But I won't be getting up at 1am (WST) for it! Oh, isn't iOS 4 for iPad due out as well?

Yeah, good point Xenophos. iOS 4 for iPad will probably get some airtime too.

I just love Apple Keynotes..... I get sooo excited, I feel like a kid in a lollie shop!

It's about time they streamed a keynote....wish they had done that for the iPhone 4 Keynote when I got up at at all hours having to read blog posts of the event.

What I'm really hoping for tomorrow is an update to iLife...out of everything that's what I want... I never updated to iLife '09, so I am hanging for the next major update.

I would also love to see if the Nano or Shuffle will be a touch screen. If it is, i might just be tempted to get one....

New iTunes would be awesome as well....maybe they will also announce wireless syncing between your iPhone/iPod Touch/nano/Shuffle etc and iTunes.....now that would be awesome and about time!


Otherwise Xavier..I think your predictions are spot on...so let's hope most of them come to fruition...but then again, everyone thought at the WWDC keynote Apple would announce other things besides the iPhone 4 and they didn't...so Im trying not to get my hopes up too high....

But I am still sooo excited.

I'll be straight onto the web when I get up in the morning....

I'm not just getting up for it, I'm staying up for it. Sooooo excited!!!! Hopefully all the rumors which have been going around will be true however if they are its gonna cost me a ton of cash. I'm planning on purchasing the new Touch for a friend, the nano for me and of course will update my iLife which I can't live without and knowing me I'll buy all the other bits and pieces announced at the event.

iWork for iPod and iPhone? That too could get a look in.

I've got a feeling there will be too many products, and Apple will quietly announce a few things with press releases.

iWork for Mac and iOS. The latter will add support for the iPhone and iPod touch but possibly only for the latest generations of both devices.

I suspect the reason for the live stream is more to push their new (Industry Leading HTTP Live Streaming, which is code for we are out here on our own using this thing, so lets do something to show how well it works to get others to use it) streaming solution, rather than the fact they have anything earth shattering to announce. I could be wrong, but I have the update I had been waiting for (Mac Pros), and it will keep me happy for a while - I'm not overly interested in other rumoured updates at the moment, so I wish you all well with your dreams ;-)

And lastly, thats one technical staging gig I would not want to be on - the pressure on that team to get that stream out without hiccups will be immense. If anything does happen and it falls over we may just hear the screams of rage from here anyway.

If it falls over, the press of course will glorify it and once again, and try to bring Apple down, just like all the other Apple haters out there.......have they succeeded.... I think not....bring on the event...I can't wait!

My predictions are the same as Xavier. I was thinking that small touch screen could replace the click wheel? I would love wireless syncing and cloud based iTunes. I reckon they are providing a HTML live stream just to show off HTML, a bit of a stab at Flash.

I love this company.... The Nano looks unreal, Apple Tv looks amazing, and I love the idea of AirTunes being built directly into speakers and stereos... How cool.

Just wish you could sync your iPhone wirelessly as well with all this other wireless connectivity going on.

I predict iLife 10 or 11 will be announced shortly as well... Here's hoping...

Otherwise these updates were pretty spot on from all the rumours.

No other company makes it as exciting as Apple!
