There is an application of these cards for pro photogs as it allows direct import to Lightroom, so they don't need to tether their camera to a laptop with a cable if they want to do that, say in a studio, for example. But I suspect it's aimed at the consumer more.

A few pros would find it useful. For instance, film location scouts need to tell their production company exactly where an image was taken.

I have a Sony DSLRA350X and a couple Olympus point and shoot, plus my trusty iPhone.

I was tossing up between a Canon or Sony when I bought my DSLR but decided on Sony because of the built in stabiliser. Very happy with my choice. When I upgrade my point and shoot I will go for a Sony Cybershot.

I notice Canon has just announced the G11 and done a very smart thing - reduced the megapixel count to 10! This should mean lower noise, better tonality images than the recent models. Can't afford one, but would love one none-the-less.

A valid observation. Canon's 50D was in many ways an improvement on its 40D, except that as a result of bumping the megapixel count up, the 50D has noisier images at a higher ISO than the 40D. At 3200 and above, the 40D remains the better camera, delivering images that need much less work in post.

Of course not, it's the marketing dept that drives the megapixels! Talk to the engineers and I'm sure they'd whole heartedly agree

Olympus E-3, lenses from 8mm fisheye to their 300 2.8, I also have a Shen-Hao 4x5 with lenses from 72mm to 300mm and a Zero Image 6x12F Pinhole Camera just for something different.

My last Olympus body was an OM-4ti. Loved it. But I decided Olympus bodies were becoming increasingly fragile. I had an OM-2n that was a tank. Light, small and tank-like. A rare combination. But later models were too plastic. How's the E-3? Rugged? Or does it not need to be?

Always loved those Zuiko lenses. And you've got a fish-eye? Cool.

What are the processing costs per 4x5 sheet?

I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ6. I bought it for the 12x zoom and the wide angle lens. The wide angle lens is great, it means I can photograph an entire room and not just a bit of it, I can also take photos of things without having to take 20 steps back to fit it in frame.

I recently upgraded to a DMC-TZ7, unintentionally of course.

I left my TZ6 on the front step and only realised it once I arrived at Adelaide Airport bound for Melbourne. First thing I did in Hobart was go to Myers and buy a TZ7.

The TZ7 is pretty much the same except it has a bigger screen and shoots videos in HD. I really am surprised at the quality of the HD videos, they look fantastic and it's not even a dedicated video camera, it's a point and shoot still camera.

I am disappoint with the way Apple handles AVCHD, if you want to do anything with your AVCHD videos in iMovie, you have to convert them first. The re-encoded footage looks terrible compared to the original, it's fuzzy and blocky. Windows 7 supports AVCHD natively and they did look amazing in Win7.

I'd love to get a fancy DSLR one day but for the sort of photography I do a DSLR is overkill. Still, prices are coming down and the feature sets are getting better, I might buy one in the next couple of years.

I have an Olympus E620 11-22, 14-54, 70-300 , 35 macro and OM 50mm 1.4., and soon to be 50-200.
Love my Oly setup it is small, light and the quality is great. Would love to get a new Oly micro 4/3 camera but might hold off till they release a new model. Would love the EP1 but if they released a similar model with an EVF I would kick myself for not waiting.
