Wow google has sort of reinvented drop box, and sort of mashed it with iCloud, to come up with something called Drive, take a peek at the video its kinda cool, O and if you like it, you can download it from your Google Plus account ( damn i knew i deleted that to soon)

Ok, just before you stick your files up on here, I think you better read googles terms , make facebooks ones look like a comic book

Figured something like that. Just don't trust 'em. Will stick with Dropbox. You know what would be cool? An app that has DB like functionality but let's you use your own server space!

It kinda sucks, you sort of think they are doing you a favour, but all they want is your data to do as they please with... personally i hope know body signs up for it and its a dud.

i think dropbox is still the safest bet, but i think in time iCloud will develop into what we all want

iCloud will always be tied to Mac OS and related apps. Which is great, but Dropbox covers a lot more platforms.

Yep, I just clicked on it from inside Hotmail (I know, right?!) and claimed my free upgrade to 25gb. How much am I currently using? 0.0mb.

Actually, it looks quite good. It seems I can create and edit .docx files right inside my browser, much like Google Apps.

And furthermore, there's a SkyDrive iOS app!!

I can't see why I would switch from Dropbox at this stage, but there are plenty of other decent alternatives.

Not until I've finished my PhD.

I switched to Mac as I was completing my Honours and it was a nightmare. In the end I had to use three different word processors across two different computers to convert, format, and add citations. The last thing one wants to deal with on a deadline. The technology is working okay at this point and so I'll leave it.

With that being said, I have an early aluminium iMac, about the earliest model that meets the minimum requirements. I'm not convinced Lion will run nicely.

Mine's late 2007 - I think it's the earliest iMac that will run Lion.
