EDIT: Here's a link to the screenshot. I assume it's genuine, although I haven't checked.

"When you upload or otherwise submit content to our Services, you give Google (and those we work with) a worldwide license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works (such as those resulting from translations, adaptations or other changes we make so that your content works better with our Services), communicate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute such content"
You have been weaned, so don't say nobody told you, if your files end up somewhere else.

Thanks for the heads up ken!

Yep, I just clicked on it from inside Hotmail (I know, right?!) and claimed my free upgrade to 25gb. How much am I currently using? 0.0mb.

Actually, it looks quite good. It seems I can create and edit .docx files right inside my browser, much like Google Apps.

I can't see why I would switch from Dropbox at this stage, but there are plenty of other decent alternatives.

I switched to Mac as I was completing my Honours and it was a nightmare. In the end I had to use three different word processors across two different computers to convert, format, and add citations. The last thing one wants to deal with on a deadline. The technology is working okay at this point and so I'll leave it.
With that being said, I have an early aluminium iMac, about the earliest model that meets the minimum requirements. I'm not convinced Lion will run nicely.
