Of course, none of them have been as dramatic as the 1997 Boston keynote where Steve fired the entire Board of Directors. No, really, he did. Name another company that has such a public airing of its corporate dirty laundry.

Oh, and for the record it was only $US150 million -- 6 percent of Apple's market capitalisation at the time, in non-voting stock. Yet the way it was reported you'd easily have thought Microsoft had just bought Apple, or at least a very significant chunk of it.

There is quite a bit of chat about on how Steve "has lost weight, did not look well, didn't engage in his usual upbeat razzamatazz, handed over an amazing amount of the keynote to other presenters, etc etc." Any thought those of you who have seen previous keynotes?

Any Apple presentation would not be the same without Steve.

There's been a few more shared presentations over the last few years. I couldn't quote you any specific ones, but some of the other main heads are starting to get a public showing.
I would expect to see that increase over time, as there are many influential journos and analysists who insist Apple is dead in the water without Steve.
For "the Market" they will have to prove that Apple has a line of succession to make sure the share price doesn't crash and burn when Steve steps down
