It looks like Steve's worlds have come true, developers are deserting android, even though sales of android devices are brisk, to say the least, but it appears the fragmentation in the android market is a major issue.

Yeah, all the devs I know only work on Android when they have a client who demands it. They all have a love/hate relationship with Apple and its restrictions, but still prefer the iOS world.

To be honest Dave in the limited time, I had the android phone I was amazed how many we'll known apps, including huge selling games, GPS, software etc, was available at the press of my mouse for FREE..

How on earth can anybody support a system, spend mega bucks writing the programs, that is simply going to be stolen, in mass quantity, with out payment ??

Yep, you virtually don't need to pay for any software, once people know this... They are super keen to buy android phones.
