I have a question as to the Admin members of this forum... :432405569_ed9ab95ef1:

All admin people in the forum, are you all working for the mag?

Do you all contribute voluntarily or are you on a dead line?

Do you all have another job if you are not with Macworld?

it will be nice to know.

Well that lets me off the hook :D

I could answer for most of the admins, but it's probably better if they do it themselves.

Hi Pegi,

None of us work for Macworld, we are all volunteers and have full time jobs. We just like coming here as much as you do to discuss everything about Apple....:)

Hey Guys, thank you all so much for all the feed back.

Truly impressed that you all work and contribute to the forum. This is without question amazing. Real Fans.

I knew that Dave was working for the paper as I read his editorial all the time. (Not even opened the new Macworld yet as I just got back. :( )

But why this forum ? There are countless Mac forums around. What attract you /us to this one?

For me what I like is the interaction of all of you. It is fun, light hearted, pro/con. good/bad. angry/outraged. Passionate/stormy. It is starting to sound like a food recipe so I better stop there. :006:

Now, Ken, I really would like to know what you do? Selling? And I love to hear what you all do of course Dave.

Hi Pegi, Like Brian said we are just volunteers, we love the forum and the Apple product so we contribute, me I am a lunatic most of the time. My good wife is a mental health (registered) nurse so she understands. When time permits I like to contribute to the magazine and both Brian and I have had some of our work published in the AMW magazine, a lot like some of the other members of the community, we like to contribute.

Day job, my position title is Global Technical Director, the company I work for manufactures composite products for the mining, tunneling and the construction industries, we have just set up in the USA (Savannah Georgia) at present we import from Australia but plan to manufacture there to meet the growing demand for the products.

Ken, is a snake oil salesman, but he does own his own company and has been on the television, but I will let him tell all about himself, he's a really interesting man / woman. We love you Ken, that's why we have named the new iPad after him, the iPad Ken, the next one is going to be iPad Barbie.....they can be friends...:yahoo:

Thanks a lot for that that is real nice to hear that you are all contributing to the forum voluntarily. I love the CV. It is very informative and interesting to see what you all do. The forum is certainly a lively place and I am just discovering the talents of what is offered in this one. :)

I also respect the fact that some of you may not be coming forward but that is OK. too.

As for me I am on the farm now almost retired, after years of living in strange places all over the globe. My last stint was in Hong Kong where I have been a school principal for a minority community. Been in education and training and hospitality all my working life.

It is nice to throw down roots after globetrotting and see things grow from a different perspective.

I am controversial and love a good debate. That is why i like the views expressed here. So varied and fun and above all the love and hate of MAC. :apple:

Thanks again.

In France that would be taken as a very explicit invitation for dinner. But as I am curious by nature or someone would say gossip perhaps... I would love to see what you are doing. I am in for a real treat then!

As for CIA files, I love the stuff, go on on email me then! :mosking:

Well, I'm not an Admin but thought it would be good to respond here given I'm a jack of all trades. My official job is within the health industry where I provide ICT advice and support to medical professionals. As part of that I also work with the dark side as a SharePoint and Dynamics CRM consultant (and looking at expanding into a few other Dynamics Products currently).

But my true love is Apple, and I'm fortunate that my employer allows me to freelance on that side, so I get to put my ACSA (10.6) and ACTC (10.7) certifications to good use with selected clients. I also do the odd website development but to be honest that bores me so I don't actively chase those jobs.

So like JZ said, that keeps me pretty busy and hence why I post fairly irregularly. I keep coming back though because it is a great little community here.

Pegi, its taken me a few days to get back to this post, but here is the answer to what I do, when I am not making a fool of myself here.

I am a seasoned traveller, who used to travel to 29 counties a year, and negotiate with governments and the EPA, on how to reduce pollution in their counties. But after a close call on 9/11 in the Philippines, I returned to Australia and started my own company and designed our own range of products to do the same here.

I also started a subsidiary company, that provides technical advise on fuel, oil and coolant, requirements for different vehicles, to approx. 200 plus clients, on a daily basis.

Also as Mick mentioned, I have had my head on TV more than once, including a story on 4 Corners in 2008, LINKwhen I helped launch a book, LINK that brought down a company who scammed 100 million out of its investors, over a bogus fuel saving pill.

Since then, I have exposed dodgy fuel LINK. I also pop up on today tonight about 2 or 3 times a year, when ever there is a fuel problem, as well as 3AW melbourne and 2UE Sydney, and have some of my posts and TV stories covered in the Fed Parliament (data base) for later reference.

So technically i am a Fuel and Oil Guru, (or as Ross Greenwood and the Herald Sun Calls me a Fuel Expert), so i guess i am not a Mac geek after all :P

And of course when i am not giving fuel companies indigestion, or ticking off angry investors, or answering tricky questions, i am here, making a goose of myself.

O and PS for anybody who wants to know where there TL name came from Just red 2 lines in the firepower book :D all is revelled
Come on 20K
