I bought the Tom Tom app last year. I knew apple would eventually do their own maps and they will probably send all other map and gps makers broke.

Well with the amount of people using ios devices google and the gps guys may be in trouble. The apple apps looked pretty impressive. If apple relapse a browser version of their maps I think google maybe in trouble.

Don't forget, Tom Tom, nearly supply every phone company with there maps, so if they bought Tom Tom, with there lunch money, it stop there opposition in there tracks from competing with them on handsets, while still giving apple a nice little site business selling standalone GPS units ?

Google isn't going anywhere. More than 50% market share on smart phones and lots of people will still prefer it to Apple's maps. And I don't see Apple releasing a web version.

True, I think a web version, is very unlikely, but losing there biggest customer has got to have a sting in it.
