AUSOM will observe 30 years of information, advice and support for Apple users at its forthcoming March meeting.

'We will celebrate AUSOM's significant anniversary in several ways, to honour members' participation and contributions over the years. This meeting will be something special to mark our achievements', AUSOM President Susan Jensen said.

Keynote speaker Anthony Caruana of Australian Macworld will look back at the world of the last 30 years as seen by Macworld and look forward to what's coming next. Under its various guises, Australian Macworld is one of the longest running continuously published Mac magazines. Over the last 30 years it has delivered independent coverage of the Mac scene and has seen some tumultuous changes.

'We are looking forward to enjoying this occasion with many stories and reminiscences about Apples and their people, Susan said.

Each of AUSOM's 750+ members will receive a complimentary DVD containing an archive of all issues of the club's magazine, AUSOM News. A compilation DVD showcasing the creative talents of AUSOM members is in production. There will also be a cake, of course, a computer expo and mini swap meet. Invited guests will include people associated with the club over the years. The scheduled meetings of special interest groups will focus on their development and achievements.

'During March we will also have a window display at 247 Flinders Lane in Ross House (where our office is located)', Susan said.

Visitors are also welcome. You don't have to be an AUSOM member to attend.

The keynote presentation starts at 1.00pm on Saturday 6 March 2010 at Melbourne PC User Group, 2nd floor, Chadstone Place, Chadstone Shopping Centre, Dandenong Rd, East Malvern (Melways 69, D4).

Sounds awesome.

(No, of course you haven't heard that before.)

Seriously, have a great night. If I were still living in Melbourne I'd be there on the night.
