I purchased an up spec'd Macbook Air 06 July 2012 and qualify for the free Mountain Lion upgrade. I completed all purchase details on the Apple website and provided proof of purchase. I'm disappointed that I am yet to receive the content code for OS X Mountain Lion, redeemable on the Mac App Store. Apple state that this code will be emailed in 24hrs from completion of the online form. I'm still waiting! I would have thought Apple would have been better organised to accommodate customers who've recently parted with significant dollars and provided the codes instantly. Anyone else waiting?

I have read this story a few times, it seems apple has been overwhelmed with the demand for mountain lion, due to all the positive feedback, let us know how you go, getting the code.

I received my code at 12.54am 28 July 2012. A long wait from having submitted my request on Thursday morning. Having said that after reading through various chat threads I didn't have to wait as long as others so I should be thankful.

I accompanied a family member yesterday to the Apple Sydney George St Store to purchase their very first Macbook Air and of course I took the opportunity to express my disappointment in the up to date process. The obliging rep informed me the problem was that Apple were issuing server codes.

I've now successfully downloaded and installed the new OS and am happily discovering it's benefits.

If you are near an apple store and want to migrate to mountain lion I suggest popping in to the store to complete the process as they have the ML OS on their server, download is quick and won't eat into your download limits.

Nice tip, I wonder if the same will apply when iOS 6 comes out, for people with limited download limits.
