I have an odd occasional problem with my Mac Pro (spec below), which I would welcome suggestions from you tech-minded lot.

Often when I start-up, but not always, the Mac starts-up fine and launches EyeTv and Safari as it should. However, when I go to do anything I find neither of my input devices (Apple wireless keyboard and mouse) work.

Now the odd thing is the mouse curser moves across the screen with mouse movement, but if I click on anything I get no response. I also get no response from the keyboard. In short, I cant do anything. If I wait ~10 mins the issues resolves itself and everything works fine. The only other option if I don’t wish to wait is a forced shut down and restart via the power switch which fixes it.

Any ideas how to prevent this irritating issue?

For people's info, this odd problem vanished with the upgrade to Lion OS. Dont know what it was, but is gone now. Good job Lion!

Sounds like it was some sort of gremlin that crept into one of your system prefs, and when you installed Lion, the old prefs got booted to the trash bin on restart.
Come on 20K
