If you need to find out how big your hard drive is, just click on your hard drive once and then hold down the 'Command' key and press the 'I' Key. This will pop open the Get Info screen for your hard drive and you will be able to see how many GB your hard drive is.

What are you wanting to install?
To check your available disk space just open a Finder Window, click on the drive or partition you want to use and check the available space in the footer of your Finder window.
Then assuming you have the required space - remembering you should leave at least 10% space - and the appropriate rights you can install.

Do you mean physical memory?
Common sense is like deodorant. The people who need it most never use it.

If you mean RAM then the maximum specified for a 6,1 iMac is 4GB.
