Tapatalk and the latest update

Has anyone else noticed how crap Tapatalk has become following the latest update to the app? ~~It's particularly annoying when I am making my way through a list of unread topics on this forum when, part of the way through the list, the app reposts the read topics back to the unread list~~.

It seems that every second update is to fix bugs that have appeared in the previous update that added new features. It smacks of insufficient testing.

EDIT: It appears that the unread bug has actually been caused by a change to this forum: the topics I've just read using my MBP and a browser are no longer being marked as read.

Tapatalk is extremely buggy.

Even with the latest update, it sometimes crashes on me.

I've seldom had a crash, but the updates required to fix bugs in the previous updates shows that the developer is both disorganised and unprofessional.

Its ridiculous, the page refreshes it self every time you need to go to another topic and then reloads all the topics again as unread and you don't have the option to mark each individual thread as read, what happened to the auto feature of this APP once you
read a post it used to move to the next unread.

Its a frickem nightmare, I thought some of the settings on my phone had changed but clearly not, as far as I'm concerned its getting very second rate. COME ON TAPATALK FIX IT PLEASE :235:

Agreed Jim.

It's a good App for quickly viewing threads, but buggy as all hell.

Wow I am now glad I stopped using it months ago, the previous bugs were enough for me to delete it. The new ones sound like a data chewing nightmare.

Is there an alternative? I have found it so much better than a browser on my iPhone. My involvement in this forum has increased significantly because the time available to me to read the forum is when I am not near my mac.

There are alternatives out there. Have a look on the App Store. Tip: find Tapatalk in the store then look at the bottom of the page where it mentions other apps that users who bought the app also bought.

The most recent update to Tapatalk has fixed all the bugs. Not only that, the app is now universal (which will annoy those who paid for the separate iPad version.)

Hey Mick,

Absolutely smooth as, I'm stoked with it, I had a look around for a replacement when it was at its worst. Problem I had a lot didn't support Aus Macworld so hung out til it got fixed, just hope it stays sorted.

Using it without problems so far!

Windows Vista RC1 made me buy a iMac, thank you Microsoft.

I have to admit Tapatalk on my ipad2 is definitely less stable than on the iPhone 4.

I read a couple of forums and it crashes more often on this forum than the other one.

What I find very frustrating is that posts that I have just read will appear in the unread list and I have to use the mark all read to get rid of them.

What I find more frustrating is when I see a list of say 10 unread posts and I read one then go back to find no more unread posts.

And finally I find using these forums In safari on ios to be anything but usable.

New Tapatalk version available via iTunes app store today. Supposed to fix ipad2 crashing issues. Go get it.

What do you know. Used the new version for about 2 minutes and it crashed.

Noticed it isn't marking these forums as read so I hit the mark read button & boom.

Is anyone having difficulty logging into Tapatalk since ios5? I haven't been able to log in on either my iPhone or iPad. I've deleted the app and reinstalled on both devices to no avail. Error message when attempting to log into Macworld Au forum is wrong username and password or login restricted by administrator.

It's working for me iApple. It's still buggy as all hell, but besides that its still a good way to cruise the forums.

I'm not sure what the problem could be.

Can you log into the forums on the Macworld website??

Test that out and if you are having problems, I can reset your password for you.
