Ok, this is kinda weird, but there is an 811 meg update out there for your iPhone, but it doesn't show up in iTunes?

I reckon that's a carrier update perhaps.

It might fix Dylan's issues.

Where did you get that update Ken?

Like you say, it doesn't show up in iTunes, it doesn't show up on the phone itself in software update, and 811meg would be the biggest update for an iPhone that i have ever had to do.

If it wasn't on this forum i have to say this is very suspicious ;) i.e. what exactly am i downloading?

And aren't carrier updates usually k's not megs Brian?

Some sites are reporting it has very minor updates that will be in 5.1 but have been included in this build for the new countries that are getting the 4S this weekend...

Well i installed the update, and wow so far 24 hours and NO dropped calls, or searching for network messages :D

There was a Telstra network update that took care of those sorts of things around the same time. My original 4S kept going back to SOS Only before finding signal again, but it did stop it at around the same time as you posted this.

At any rate, I'm downloading it now to see if it helps/

I really don't know what the problem is. I have trouble even sending a text message with two bars of reception. On my 4 if I had two bars I could make a crystal-clear call.

That's crazy though.

I have had more text messages not send in a month on the 4S than I have in my entire life previous to the 4S.

And trying to send an MMS with three bars? Forgeddaboutit.
