The below infographic shows the growth of the popular social gaming app Draw Something. In its first 50 days the app was downloaded 50 million times and topped Apple’s iTunes app store for both free and paid apps.

Zynga, the game’s new owner, is a customer of Couchbase – one of the NoSQL database leaders – which gave this infographic to The Next Web as an exclusive.

Couchbase’s platform enabled Draw Something to update its NoSQL database technology — from six database servers to more than 90 — without a second of game downtime.

Last month OMPOP, the company behind Draw Something, was acquired by Zynga for more than US$200 million, after the company almost went bust and CEO Dan Porter said the games weren’t performing and were not getting traction on Facebook.

Now the deal is being compared to this week’s announcement that Facebook was acqurining Instagram for $1 billion.
