App Guide

Wrapp is a social gift-giving app that lets you give your Facebook friends free or paid gift cards.

It’s a fun and easy way to send, receive and redeem gift cards using your iPhone, and a bunch of Australian retailers are already on board, from Roses Only to Drummond Golf, Industrie and more.

After you log in to Facebook the app shows you who out of your Facebook friends is celebrating a birthday on the day or in coming months. Choose your friend then pick from a lift of gifts. These can either be free or paid – or you can choose a free gift and then top up the value. For example, I can give a friend a free Ben Sherman voucher worth $15, or I can top up the gift by paying extra. All the gifts have terms and conditions like other gift cards and vouchers you purchase in store. Sponsored gifts through the app seem to expire after 30 days, whereas paid gifts expire after 12 months.  You can then add a special message to your Facebook friend, who must have either an iPhone or Android smartphone to use the gift. You can share the news about your gift via message, email or on your Facebook friend’s wall.

You can also give a gift card that can be used in another country where the service is available – Germany, Finland, UK, Nertherlands, Norway, Sweden or the US.

We’re finding it an easy way to buy those last-minute gifts.
