There are a lot of alarm apps available – trust us, we checked – and while we haven’t had the time to check them all out, we did try GRsoft Labs’ updated Smart Alarm Pro.
It promises a lot but doesn’t quite hit the mark.
While primarily an alarm app, it also provides current, expected and five-day weather information and lets you view your top RSS feeds.
Local traffic information is also available; by entering a predetermined street address a Google map will show you the traffic situation when you wake up. If the weather outside is poor, the Intelligent Alarm will help you avoid the traffic by waking you earlier.
It repeatedly referred us to US city, Chicago rather than our Melbourne location, which is an issue the developers will have to examine.
If you need an extra kick, you can choose a photo album slideshow or 50 motivational quotations to get you going. You can also set an unlimited playlist so you wake up to music.
At $0.99 it is worth a look, but we found some of the features to be a bit slow, especially the traffic function.
