App Guide

In a world where so many apps and games are derivative, with the next ‘big’ one looking and playing a lot like the last ‘big’ one, comes the word game QatQi (pronounced ‘cat-key’), launched today.

In it, like so many others, you build words upon words, taking advantage of high-scoring spaces and uncovering gold coins. But you also have increasingly difficult ‘maps’ to explore by building the words down corridors and into rooms. And making the game stand out so much further are the beautifully different and engaging interfaces designed by artist Kun Chang (Osmos, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace) and a dreamy, chill-out soundtrack. Even the menu system and high score/stats pages are different from the norm.

We were hooked from the start. This will be a new favourite word game for everyone from beginner to expert.
