Stofle Designs has another ‘With Buddies’ iPhone game out – and this time you can duel with jewels in Jewels with Buddies.
The objective in this ‘With Buddies’ game is to match three or more jewels of the same type either in a horizontal or vertical line, to eliminate them from the screen and earn points.
If you’ve played any of the other ‘With Buddies’ games, like Dice with Buddies, or even the ‘with friends’ games such as Words with Friends, then you’ll be familiar with the interface.
When launching the app, you can just use the same account that you’ve created for previous ‘With Buddies’ games, create a new one, or conveniently log in with Facebook.
After you’ve got your account ready to go, there’s a quick tutorial that’s always nice to have when starting a new game. This explains the less obvious parts of the game, such as how to use the power-ups.
When playing a game, you can choose to play against one of your Facebook friends, a random buddy, someone you’ve played against before, a friend via username, or even local play using the two-player option on your device.
Since it’s a turn-based game, you can have multiple games running at once or use the in-game chat to taunt your friends while you wait for your turn. The in-game chat is smooth, and delivers messages fast. It also supports emoji icons, which are amusing to use.
The app also has push notifications that you can turn on.
The gameplay is fast-paced and entertaining, and the cute power-ups that are available – like the panda that eats a row of jewels, or the pink elephant that eats half of all the jewels to give you bonus points – add some extra fun to your match.
Graphics in this game are vibrant and colourful, and the sound effects add to the overall fun gaming experience.
You can also take a look at the player stats that appear on the top left corner of the screen, which display your wins, losses, ties and forfeits clearly in a pie chart.

This is one of the most fun multiplayer iPhone games that I’ve played for a while, and the option to be matched up with a random buddy and the ability to play multiple games at once makes it really addictive.Jewels with Buddies for iOS,
