Mac OS X Lion v10.7.4 or later

Whether creating slideshows for personal use or for a professional client, you don’t want to spend hours on it or for it to look shoddy either so speed and options are vital. The new feature of FotoMagico 4 is that it adds a timeline feature so that music and sound effects can sit alongside slides, text frames and movies. It makes it easy to see what’s going on and could be considered an essential element.
Photos can be imported from folder locations or Aperture, iPhoto and Lightroom libraries and even though the windows can be resized, this makes the selection process very cramped. The same file browsing applies to the music which can use iTunes songs. Once selected, files can be dragged and dropped into place, with each slide then being automatically fit into the display format.
There’s a default five second display time on each slide, but they can be altered on mass or individually which is then reflected in the timeline. Equally, single transitions or specific types of transition can be added and edited. There are options for chapters and blank slides to add text to, or text can be added to an existing slide. The text display and animation options are basic though. Also, while the transitions are quite snappy and funky, there aren’t a huge amount of them.
Macworld Australia‘s buying advice
Overall, this is a decent slideshow creation app, but it lacks a lot of frills, though it can create a decent variety of output formats including iOs devices, AppleTV, web and DVD.
