Film Stocks for Photos
Digital Film Tools
Mac OSX 10.6 or later
Age Rating: 4+
Unlucky for Digital Film Tools to launch at the same time as the brilliant Exposure 4 but if you can’t stretch to that expense then this is a much more affordable alternative.
It features a massive 288 film stocks that cover standards from Agfa, Fuji, Polaroid and Ilford but also historical processes, Lomo and Holga toy cameras and cross processing.
The interface is neat and slick with categories for the stocks along the bottom, the stacked filters on the left and the stocks and parameters on the right. What’s interesting is that the various stocks can be stacked and blended with the layer system. Also, the individual parameters of each stock can be tweaked.
The problem is that while there are a lot of them, there’s not enough in the way of lo-fi grunge or creative borders.
Macworld Australia’s buying advice
However, this is a lot cheaper than Exposure 4 and if you match it with something like Analog then you have a pretty creative alternative for adding flavour to digital images.
