App Guide

Fancy, or The Fancy as some people may know it, has updated its iOS app to let users invite friends via Facebook and Twitter, and has added support for Chinese (Simplified), Icelandic, Japanese and Korean.

A competitor to Pinterest, Fancy is now the darling of social networking and e-commerce.  It lets users ‘fancy’ products they like, putting them on a world stage for others to discover … and even buy.

After a slowish start, it jumped to prominence recently after Apple CEO Tim Cook opened an account and fancied a few items. This, in turn, led to much speculation that Apple was in talks to acquire Fancy.

The app gives you all the features as the site – browse categories, deals, brands and stores, find and invite friends, and even earn earn cash back. You can follow Fancy members with similar tastes to yourself, as well as top contributors.

It lets you Fancy straight to your account, and add items to your lists, or leave comments on what you’ve Fancy’d.

You can add to Fancy by taking a photo or choosing an existing photo from your iOS device.

Items you’d like to buy can be added directly add to your cart. You can view your orders, edit items and check out using your credit card.

The app also lets you change profile settings and details such as notifications, language and timeline.

If you’re new to Fancy and are a user of Pinterest and Etsy, make sure you add the Fancy app to your collection.
