If you’ve ever been told you have no rhythm, this may not be the game for you. Beat Sneak Bandit is a rhythm- based stealth puzzle game, which sounds like a confusion of genres but actually works surprisingly well.
As Beat Sneak Bandit, you can only sneak around the level in time with the soundtrack’s beat. Tapping the screen moves you in one direction – the only way to turn around is by bouncing off walls or objects, all the while trying to avoid the guards, alarms, trap doors and vacuums in your attempt to collect clocks from the nefarious Duke Clockface.
The challenges can be rather difficult – partly because of level design, but mostly because of the unique rhythm gameplay method, which can be unforgiving if you miss a beat. It also means you can’t play the game without sound, although you wouldn’t want to with its catchy soundtrack. Visuals are equally impressive, looking like something that would be at home on Cartoon Network.
